Term 3
Week 9

Another amazing week for Room 4!
This week we have been really busy reading our new books with fluency and confidence from the SPCA. We love reading books that we can learn more about animals in or environments. Thank you so much to the SPCA for our new and exciting books.
This week we have had Sheryl Stivens in Room 4 teaching us about Waste Management and what to recycle and what not to recycle. Miss Hannah also learnt some interesting things too!
Our ESOL groups have been working hard on displaying their cultural well being and knowledge by making their own Tapas. They are display in Room 4 and the children are very proud of them. They also wrote information reports on what each part of their Tapa means to them and their families. You are more than welcome to come in and read them.

Term 3
Week 8

This week we have been working hard on learning the Maori language as it is Maori language week. We have had two fantstic people come in and help us learn words like waka and hakatere and Ka Pai and all sorts of things. With them we made our own waka either out of hakatere and tooth picks or straws, we then tested them to see if they would float.

The have also been working hard on reading with a buddy and making sure we are listening to them and remembering what they have said. Our buddies have been helping each other with their reading this week and we feel much more confident.
