Term 3
Week 1

Its back to school!
Miss Hannah is so happy to see all of Room 4 students back. We have been working really hard on adding detail to our sentences, adding tens to a number in an equation in Maths, drawing koru for Topic and Art, and re-reading our words to solve a hard for in Reading.
Today we had our first session in discovery for the term. The children loved being back in discovery time. We had 2 very special visitors/helpers in Room 4 (Cassie and Ros) they were helping us make Matariki Flax Stars, they are awesome!

Term 2
Week 9

Children that were in Room 4 this week for Discovery Time got to test out their bubble skills and see how many bubbles that could catch on their stick! There are some special skills to blowing bubbles as the children found out. They said that you need to blow softly and put the whole sticks in the bubble mixture - great oral language.

Term 2
Week 9

This week we have also been focusing on using our oral language to communicate ideas and information. Room 4 learnt about how to express data and what cool ways we ca show it in our classroom. We made some very cool Data Monsters!
Each Monster represents each child with the data being different information. Use the key at the bottom of the photo to help you.

Term 2
Week 8

This week we have been working hard on our adjectives and action verbs in their writing and reflections and tessellations for their maths. We have some fantastic Art on our walls and our tessellation art so please feel free to come in and see them.
We have also been enjoying Kiwican. We had to have it in the library this week as it was raining and Mark took sports in the hall. We worked together using our listening skills and co-operation skills.

Term 2
Week 7

This week has been a very positive week for Room 4. The children are working super hard and we have been focusing on using adjectives in our writing, recognising 2d and 3d shapes and becoming fluent in our reading.
In Maths time on Thursday we made tessellation shape art. The children were learning how to move shapes around so they "fit together" and have no gaps between them. They are very proud of their efforts.
Come in to Room 4 to see the finished products.
Also this week it was Support staff day. We love our teacher aides and really appreciate the work that they do so we gifted them with cards and a celebration on the netball court.
